A soft-spoken Dominican Diademas Finas built almost entirely on baking flavours (butterscotch, salted caramel, brioche, cinnamon, and vanilla) with almost no pepper until the retrohale. 85/100. Confident and unusual, with clear upside if smoked drier and given age.

Construction

Excellent overall for a long figurado: seams clean, ash holds in solid towers, and the wrapper stays intact through the nub. Smoke density runs a little weak when the cigar is too moist. Definitely wants lower RH before the next stick.

Draw and Burn

Draw: Cold draw tight, almost certainly the Diademas Finas taper. Lit draws stay on the tight side throughout, which keeps volume modest and softens some of the mid-palate detail until the leaf is drier.
Burn: Burn line starts wavy and needs attention early, another tell that conditioning was a touch high. Once underway it settles enough that the ash can stack without drama.
Smoke time: 90-110 minutes

Pairings

Café con leche or a lightly sweetened espresso to meet the caramel and brioche
Bourbon or aged rum with vanilla oak, kept neat and modest
Still mineral water to keep the salted-caramel and cinnamon notes clean

Tasting progression

First third

Immediate butterscotch on the light with no spice. Caramel, vanilla, and only the mildest pepper begin to show; smoke density is a little thin, again pointing at moisture. Flavour stays in butterscotch and salted caramel with light-roast coffee. Toward the end of the third a nuttier note and subtle cedar arrive. Spice remains very light and is really only clear on the retrohale. This wants to be smoked at lower RH.

Second third

Breadiness opens up: brioche and cookie dough, savory and salty rather than purely sweet. Baking spices step forward: cinnamon and even ginger. Construction is excellent and the ash holds, but the draw stays tight and flavours feel dampened by the need for drier conditioning.

Final third

The bready profile holds at medium strength. Still unique for how little pepper it carries while leaning on smooth baking flavours. Vanilla becomes the most salient taste through the close.

Final Verdict

85/100. Confident flavours and a rare palette of almost exclusively baking notes: honey, vanilla, cookie dough, with flashes of floral honeysuckle. It has room to score higher with drier conditioning, which would likely clear the slight grassiness and improve flavour integration, draw, and smoke density. Aging potential is real; maturation could deepen the complex baking spices without forcing pepper into a blend that does not need it.
