A dense, well-packed broadleaf robusto that opens mildly on oak and wood before building into a bold, savory profile of leather, pepper, and spice. Construction and smoke quality are excellent, though the intense flavor profile will not suit every palate.

Tasting progression
First third
Fairly mild opening draws with little pepper at first. Subtle woodiness, more oak than Cuban-style cedar, on a tighter draw that still produces dense smoke. Oak intensified as the third progressed, with pepper arriving alongside strong chili and white pepper on the retrohale. Leather and a touch of salted caramel emerged, but the profile stayed firmly savory. Strength built steadily through the third.
Second third
The cigar mellowed slightly after the assertive opening. Pepper softened into musty cayenne and paprika, while leather and oak remained the dominant notes. A very strong smoke on retrohale throughout.
Final third
Largely consistent with the second third. Flavors melded together without significant new development, leaving a cohesive blend of oak, leather, and layered pepper spice through the finish.
Final Verdict
Scores well for construction and smoke quality, but the intense wood and leather profile is only for certain smokers. A bold, confident combination of oak, leather, and different types of pepper. It is not a subtle cigar; you have to love those flavors to want to smoke it.
